Microdermabrasion

How can the VIP system guarantee to slow the aging process?

Hydration is crucial to the healthy functioning of our skin. The dermis of our skin is made up jelly like substances and like all jelly's, it contains a large amount of water/ Embedded and supported within this jelly are our collagen and elastin fibres.

These fibres form a mesh like network that gives our skin its elasticity and flexibility. A hydrated dermis maintains the flexibility of the fibre network and supports enzymatic action within the skin. Enzymes act, as accelerators of important biological reactions and without optimal water levels in the dermis this action is inhibited and many of the biological processes they control are impaired.

For instance enzymes control the change and maturation of skin cells as they move up through the epidermal layers, when dehydration is prevalent cell transformation is not fully completed so the immature skin cells that find their way to the surface of the skin are not ready to shed. This sluggish circulation results in a dull looking complexion, relying on the regular use of fruit acids.

Another action enzymes trigger is for epidermal cells to release the water and lipids they contain into the spaces between the cells and form water and lipid bi-layers in the stratum corneum. These liquid lipids play an important part in the appearance and texture of your skin – they appear as a transparent gel with a huge capacity for reflecting light. As they are found close to the surface of your skin their radiant effect is quite visible to the naked eye.

When in an insufficient amount of water in the skin this liquid lipid gel transforms into hard grainy crystals and the skin loses its radiance and smooth silky texture.

There will not be a snap-back or rapid decline if treatments are stopped, there is rather a gradual decline as the skin returns to its normal ageing process. However, your skin and muscle tone will still better than before you started the treatment program.

Omnilux Revive

Omnilux Revive (www.omnilus.co.uk) uses a combination of pure, visible red and infra red light to stimulate the deeper skin tissue, leading to a softening of fine lines, improved skin tone and super smooth skin. Omnilux Blue

Omnilux Blue (www.omnilus.co.uk) uses a light source that is specially tuned to activate natural chemicals found in the bacteria that cause skin redness in acne.  When stimulated, these chemicals destroy the bacteria.

Omnilux Blue is safe and harmless to your skin and generates no heat. The light works naturally with your body to promote the healing response. The only safety measure is to wear goggles to protect your eyes from the light.

Optimum results will be seen between 4-8 weeks after treatment. The light stimulates natural processes that continue after the treatment has stopped. Whilst studies have shown complete clearance of lesions, on average you should expect 70% of lesions to clear when using blue light alone and over 80% when using blue and red light together (read more below). We suggest that the treatment is used in conjunction with a preparation such as salicylic acid. Your advisor can discuss this combination treatment with you.
